SUMMARY:1st Seminar on Corporate Carbon Footprints for SMEs
DESCRIPTION:1st Seminar on Corporate Carbon Footprints for SMEs\n\nThis con
 ference aims to raise awareness of the challenges of climate change and th
 e Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)\; in particular\, we intend to demo
 nstrate the value of the Carbon Footprint (CF) as an indicator of corporat
 e performance and a measurement of the impact of companies’ activities i
 n order to propose strategies for ecological transition. Different methodo
 logies and tools for calculating the standardised ‘scopes’ of emission
 s will be demonstrated\, as well as the procedures for recording these.\n\
 nThe programme will consist of a combination of talks on the different con
 cepts and methodologies including case studies\, and interactive classes i
 n a computer room (in a workshop format). Participants will become familia
 r with the use and application of these methodologies by calculating CFs f
 or simple instructive cases.\n\nFinally\, participants will be given an on
 line assignment involving a case study\, to be overseen by a tutor using M
 icrosoft Teams. The results obtained will be compared and discussed in an 
 online meeting (date to be determined together with the participants)\, du
 ring which the tutor will answer questions and offer guidance.\n\nThe spea
 kers will be composed of company\, government and university professionals
  with extensive practical experience in the field.\n\nTime: 9.30 am to 2.0
 0 pm and 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm\n\nTarget audience: Technicians and profession
 als from SMEs which are interested in learning about the carbon footprint 
 of their activities and reducing their impact on climate change.\n\nGoals:
  To share information about the relevance and usefulness of the CF as a p
 erformance indicator that SMEs can use to improve the action they are taki
 ng to reduce their impact on climate change\, and to teach methodologies f
